Dean Kaplan has over twenty-five years experience in collections, negotiations, management consulting, and business management and personally handles all large collection claims. Mr. Kaplan’s expertise is evidenced by the numerous engagements to travel internationally to negotiate transactions, including nearly a dozen trips over the last 3 years to Asia, Europe and the Persian Gulf.
He is a frequent guest lecturer on a variety of credit and collection topics to credit management groups sponsored by NACM (National Association of Credit Managers), Riemer Reporting Service and Dun & Bradstreet. He is also a contributor to Credit Today. Previously, Dean has been the CFO of two venture backed high-tech companies, selling one and resurrecting the other. He owned and operated a manufacturing firm for seven years, achieving 500% growth. He was at a management consultant for eight years at KPMG, specializing in M&A, business planning, bankruptcies and reorganizations. Dean has an MBA from the University of Chicago and a B.A. degree from Claremont McKenna College.
Jerry Kaplan has over thirty-five years of successful “hands-on” commercial collection, management, consulting and training experience. He founded The Kaplan Group in 1991, two years after selling Kaplan & Kaplan, a collection agency he founded and ran for twenty years. Jerry’s knowledge and expertise in commercial collections, commercial law, insolvencies, banking and all aspects of business achieves maximum collections for clients. He is a past President of the American Commercial Collections Association (now the International Association of Commercial Collectors), past Treasurer of the Commercial Collection Agency Section of the Commercial Law League of America, and has held numerous other executive positions with industry organizations. He is a member the Commercial Law League of America and has a B.S. degree from the University of Arizona.
Anne R. Grupp is an attorney who has been practicing law for over thirty years, most recently as Assistant General Counsel and Vice President of Litigation for Turner Broadcasting System. At Turner, she managed and conducted litigation worldwide, for all the Turner Broadcasting System entities (CNN, TBS, TNT, Turner Publishing, Licensing and Merchandising, etc.). She has extensive experience with litigation, trials, developing and implementing negotiating strategies and procuring settlements. She is a member of the California Bar Association and manages forwarding and litigation and handles complex collection matters.
